Team Apartment learns a lot from being Team Villa's Household Service Crew
In this week’s “Teentramurals”, Team Villa had won fair and square, bagging not only the cash prize but services and items from the other house. The games continued, and again, Team Apartment aims for the much-coveted beds. The fourth game on the list was a modification of Sepak Takraw (locally known as “sipa”) or kick volleyball. Not only did a balloon take over the usual rattan ball, but the players could only use a flippered foot to hit the balloon. On this 3-on-3 game, the teams got to chose their representatives. Joe, Patrick and Pots played for Team Apartment while Yong, Maichel and Eslove were cheered on by Team Villa. The game was tied at 7 points, and a match game was played. Despite Eslove getting cramps, Team Villa was still able to bag their fourth consecutive win.
Though happy with their win, Team Villa found no reason to be smug about it. Kyra expressed empathy for their counterparts, especially since they were losing their things on top of the weekly budget. Yong, Maichel and Eslove dropped by to pick up their latest win: the chessboard. Joe was beside himself with joy when he saw his former housemates. He even introduced his buddy Eslove to Fretzie, the latter’s crush. Ivan, on the other hand, could not mask his disappointment at the loss, especially when he had to watch it from the sidelines. Patrick, this week’s team leader, tried to keep a stiff upper lip and stayed determined. “I tried to be the best leader for them,” he shared. “Hindi ako nauubusan ng hope.” Joe felt it was their best performance yet, but of course, there could only be one winner.
The original boarders of Teen Apartment were the more fortunate ones, used to living a life of comfort and luxury. Though the set-up in their house took them outside their usual lifestyle, it seemed that they still have not shaken off their laziness and were prone to making violations, particularly on sleeping outside the allotted time. To counter this, Kuya called all of them in the Confession Room and dished out a group learning experience: they were to be members of the Household Service Crew of Team Villa. Through drawing lots, they were given a particular chore to do for the teens at the Villa. They were also given the appropriate clothes to complete the look.
The first pair inside the house were Pots and Fretzie, whose task was to cook and serve dinner to the Villa teens. They were to be silent workers, banned from talking to the others. The two had no idea how to cook nilagang baboy, and were quite lost in the kitchen. Eslove lingered near the pair, eyes riveted towards Fretzie. He also did his Edward Cullen pose in an attempt to catch her attention. Shey noted that the two were fumbling around, and took it upon herself to guide them by discussing the steps of cooking the dish. In the end, Team Villa feasted on tasty soup and juicy meat.
Next in were Joe and Kazel, the housecleaners. Armed with cleaning supplies, they also had to wear coconut husks (locally known as “bunot”) on their feet. His former housemates were expressed their excitement on having Joe back. Shey and Eslove, in particular, kept their “Papa Bear” in a tight bear hug. Kazel had nothing bad to report about their treatment, since they were helping the two out in cleaning and were even apologizing for the mess.
Patrick and Becca headed to the pool area to wash clothes. Tricia hopped over and insisted on feeding them a snack, though they refused at first. She also convinced the rest that the task would be finished faster if they all lent a hand. Patrick joked that his mom must have been shocked to see him doing the laundry, since he has never done that before. Becca soon complained of an aching back for being hunched over so long. Luckily, Team Villa stayed with them and helped them out.
Ivan and Yen were the last pair to enter, doing their task as dishwashers. Tricia came over and, as she did with all the others, hugged them. “Kahit hindi n’yo ako nami-miss, nami-miss ko kayo,” she told them.
In the end, Team Apartment learned lifetime lessons. Kazel shared that no helper would last long with them, but now she realized that she should help out and have the initiative to do tasks. Pots, used to having bodyguards and helpers, found fulfillment in serving others and found out that a little courtesy goes a long way. Becca had a glimpse of the difficulties of helpers , as did Yen, who realized that helpers should be treated as equals. Ivan was the most independent, and shared that he has always treated helpers with courtesy. “I was never one to stand back and watch.”
Is this the start of good reactions between the two houses? Will Team Villa keep their winning streak or will Team Apartment finally get their break? Stay tuned and watch PBB Teen Clash of 2010 on Uber and Primetime, daily!
