PBB boys hula hoop for Angelo’s scholarship

PBB boys hula hoop for Angelo’s scholarship

It was just after Mothers’ Day when Kuya invited Nanay Inday and Nanay Lynn, mothers of Angelo and Devon respectively, to show a sampling of how much mothers would do for the sake of their children. The two were asked to serve as helpers inside the PBB house for an entire week, and with college scholarships at stake, they both agreed. At the end of the week, Kuya called Nanay Inday into the Confession Room and commended her on a job well done. Indeed, having to restrain herself from hugging the son she had not seen in two years was surely heart-wrenching, but it had to be done. In fact, Nanay Lynn’s body could not bear the strain of being so near Devon that her blood pressure shot up and she had to be brought to the hospital for observation. Nanay Inday, who chose to finish the task on her lonesome, was gifted with P 10,000 in cash for a week’s work along with grateful words from Kuya himself.
There was another part to the deal, though. To secure a college scholarship for Angelo, her identity was to be kept secret. Unfortunately, the Villa boys were too perceptive, and guessed the truth. Normally, that would throw Nanay Inday’s efforts out the window, but the boys from both houses pleaded with Kuya to be given the chance to salvage the situation. In exchange for Angelo’s college scholarship, the boys of both houses had to sustain a twirling hula hoop for 24 hours straight. The Apartment boys took charge of the first 12 hours, while the Villa boys wrapped it up with the last 12. It took a lot of teamwork, communication, perseverance and brotherhood, but in the end, they were able to complete the task.

Finally, Nanay Inday’s efforts inside the house came to an end and she was ushered out of the Apartment with hugs and thanks. Before she left, though, Kuya granted her one last wish: 100 seconds with Angelo. The moment mother and son laid eyes on each other, tears gushed out and they locked each other in a tight embrace. Nanay Inday made the most of their time as words of concern and maternal advice streamed out of her. Angelo just kept nodding and assuring her that all would be well, keeping her close the entire time.

Later, Kuya called the boys in to reveal all to Angelo. He proudly held up his college scholarship granted by Nanay Inday’s sacrifices, the housemates’ efforts and STI. Grateful, he looks forward to a time when he could return the favor. Joe probably said it best when he said that all that was needed was for Angelo to do his best and not throw the opportunity away.

Will Angelo be able to get another week inside the house, or will his college scholarship be the last big prize he gets? Will his relations with the rest of the housemates improve, at least? Keep watching and stay updated with the goings-on in PBB Teen Clash of 2010, now in new timeslots!

Kasambahays’ identities, revealed!

Kasambahays’ identities, revealed!

Kuya roused Devon and Angelo late in the night and asked them to deliver some more bags of laundry to their house helpers who were in the Apartment. It was then that they realized the truth, but had to stare helplessly after their own mothers. The two returned to the Confession Room in tears, confused at the game Kuya was playing. Despite not having seen his mom for two years, Angelo knew that hers was a familiar figure. “Naramdaman ko pong mama ko ‘yun,” he sobbed. “Miss na miss ko na po ang mama ko. Gusto ko po siya makausap.” Kuya confirmed their guesses and revealed that it was their mothers who were doing the chores of both houses. Though Nanay Lynn and Nanay Inday already were employed as house helpers in the outside world, it still was a different thing knowing that they were working in the house of peers. Kuya reminded Devon of Angelo of something that governed a lot of what went on in his house: “Lahat ng nangyayari ay may rason na malalaman sa takdang panahon.” Taking it a step further, the two had to keep the secret to themselves or risk throwing away everything their mothers worked for. Devon and Angelo chose to keep quiet about what they knew, but tried to lessen their moms’ chores somehow. Angelo headed to the kitchen sink and scrubbed away, vowing not to sleep until he finished washing everything. Devon hid the secret better, keeping a straight face and only allowing herself hidden glances towards her mom when she came over to clean the next day. Yen and her decided to pick up some things to help lessen the clutter around the house.
It was such an effort to hide the truth from the rest of the housemates, but little did they know that the others actually had a pretty good idea of what was going on already. The boys, especially, figured out that the only reason Angelo would be so distracted was if it involved his mom. The wrinkled hands and meals that tasted like one a mom would make were the clues that supported their theory. Knowing this, they also made an effort to clean up and even kept the moms company as they washed their clothes. “Gusto ko pong agawin ‘yung nilalabhan,” shared Angelo. In fact, he couldn’t bear it any longer and talked to his mom, asking about the family. With difficulty, Nanay Inday steeled herself against it and kept silent. At the most, she shed some tears in silence.
Nanay Lynn seemed the stronger one, but her emotions gave way in a physical manner. Devon lent a hand to her mom as well, though she made sure to call her “tita”. While hanging clothes, Nanay Lynn suddenly slipped and fell, which had the housemates rushing over to help her. As it turned out, her blood pressure shot up at the sight of her daughter. According to Devon, her mom’s work already made her weak, and Kuya decided to send Nanay Lynn to the hospital just to be sure.
Kuya broke the news to Devon, who was already worried because of her mom’s fall. He also informed Nanay Inday of what happened, and while he offered to have some housemates sleep by her, she opted to stay be herself. Still, Kuya decided to reveal the true identity of their supposed house helpers to the three Teenternational nominees. To help out, April, Ann and Carson would take shifts in assisting Nanay Inday.
Though Nanay Lynn was stable already, will she still be able to finish the challenge and win the college scholarship for Devon? Will Devon and Angelo be able to focus on their weekly task, knowing the truth? Will the Teenternationals bag another Teen Big Night slot, or will it finally go to the Pinoy housemates? So much to watch out for, so don’t miss any updates!

Big Utol and Kuya discipline the Villa teens

Big Utol and Kuya discipline the Villa teens

Big Utol can play the strict guardian, too, it seems. While the Apartment teens have diligently cleaned their house, the Villa teens have been amiss in their household duties. Their messy quarters have already gone way past the point of tolerance, so much so that Big Utol decided to teach them a lesson. He called in Yong and Angelo and tasked them to clear the girls’ room of all litter as the rest of the house looked on. “Mas burara pa kayo kesa sa mga lalaki,” he admonished the girls. Likewise, Big Utol did not look past the mess in the boys’ room and gave the same consequence. Their things were confiscated indefinitely, and since most of their stuff were part of the mess, it was quite a significant loss. Fortunately, they were given a chance to redeem themselves. Given a 5-minute limit, the Villa teens had to clear the mess in their house, in exchange for their confiscated things. Their spic-and span house at the end of the time limit was proof that, harsh though it seemed, Big Utol’s discipline was quite effective after all.
Kuya had to end his vacation abruptly after grave violations were committed, and he too meted out harsh consequences. Joe, Kyra, Devon and Patrick were given automatic nominations while Shey was finally booted out. Sad though they were, they agreed with Kuya’s decision and believed that he had every reason to support it. Joe felt that he deserved it, as did the other three. Patrick and Kyra were sad about their nomination, but were more ashamed of their actions towards Tricia. After seeing the video clip and knowing that it was aired on live television, Devon felt the gravity of her action, especially when she took her family’s disappointment into account. Shey seemed unsure of how to react, and admitted that as much as she remembered the rule on nominations, she didn’t think that her expression of personal opinion would count. “Hindi ko naisip na it’s that general.”
After the announcement of Shey’s eviction, majority of the household stayed crowded around her to share in her sadness. Tricia, having just realized how she was regarded by the others in the house, opted to steal away to the poolside in tears. Jovic and Ivan followed her and tried to reason with her. Tricia shared her disappointment and hurt over the revelation, and couldn’t stop from sobbing. The two boys advised her to clear things out with Shey, something that they also said to Shey about Tricia.
Tricia chose to approach Devon first, who explained that Tricia’s changes were simply not enough to make a difference in impression. “Kung ayaw ninyong makita, hindi nyo talaga makikita,” Tricia reasoned. Shey followed soon after, offering an apology and an explanation, both of which taking quite a bit of effort on her part. For whatever it was worth, the two shared a quick hug before going their own way. To Kuya, Tricia shared that the apology meant a lot to her and that she decided to take the situation as an inspiration to be stronger. The entire experience, she shared, proved to be a turning point that would bring about a better side of her.
Before she left, Shey prepared a short dance for the other housemates. Accompanied by Emily, her doll that she brought in her pageant performances, she did a creative dance followed by a belly dancing routine. An act that was meant to entertain only brought about tears and feelings of loss from the rest, knowing that it meant farewell.
Life’s lessons don’t usually come easy. Most of the time, life deals a hard blow and it is only afterwards that the reason becomes clear. Hopefully, the housemates have learned much for surviving inside and outside of Kuya’s house.

Nominated Teen Housemates

On Friday night, the teens had their first taste of nominations. Kuya had Joe and Patrick break the news to their respective teams, and one by one, the teens cast their votes. No matter how friendly they have already become with each other, the fact that this was a competition remained. Both teams expressed apprehension and discomfort in taking part, but there simply was no way around it.
The top two scorers in each house would be part of the list. In case of tied points, the number of nominees could increase. For the first batch of nominees, three housemates from Team Apartment got in, while only two came from Team Villa. However, because of several broken rules, Kuya added one more from Team Villa via automatic nomination.
Tricia, Potz and Patrick made up the first half of nominees. Tricia got the biggest bulk of votes from her own team. A myriad of reasons were stacked against her: frequent mood swings, the constant need for attention, being melodramatic, blatant flirting, self-isolation and snobbishness. Potz and Patrick tied at second. The housemates felt that Potz was not taking things seriously and that he was not helping much. Patrick got his points for not being that easy to be close to.
Eslove and Angelo were voted for very opposite reasons. Eslove’s happy-go-lucky attitude got him the slot. The others felt that his jokes and antics were getting out of line and that he was not as helpful in house chores. Angelo, on the other hand, was too serious and tended to be a know-it-all. These made him difficult to approach and understand. Kuya added Maichel to the list of nominees as well. Kuya felt that Maichel did not have enough respect for the rules. Upon his entry to the PBB house, he was instructed to keep his name a secret, yet the moment he stepped in the house, he introduced himself and told them about his task. He also committed the dreaded lapel violation, the use of sign language to converse and taking a bath outside shower time. With these valid cases, Maichel got an automatic nomination.
Who among these six teens would have their PBB experience cut short? One week to prove their worth, because by next weekend, two of them will have to bid goodbye and be content with watching from the outside. Voting is now officially open! Vote to save your housemate of choice. As always, their fate is in your hands. Find out who deserves another shot by staying updated! Watch PBB Teen Clash of 2010 Uber and Primetime daily.
