All’s fair in love and war

All’s fair in love and war

“I, 2, 3, 4, I declare a thumb war!” Tricia took her turn at keeping their captive company by thumb wrestling, and Yong followed it up with some chit-chat after. Ryan was Team Villa’s “prisoner”, after the Teenternational housemates lost the first challenge. Complete with ball and chain, Ryan was confined to his jail cell, with a “guard” keeping watch. It wasn’t that bad, really, especially when he had constant entertainment and lots of food. Jovic regaled everyone with his Showtime hosting skills, while Joe stayed in character as the in-house comedian. Angelo, the designated guard, had some trouble figuring out the combination lock of the jail cell. Did that have anything to do with Yen, one wonders? Yen and Angelo have gotten used to exchanging terms of endearment, calling each other “Baby Yen” and “Baby Gelo”. Yen was no stranger to being admired, while Angelo has yet to start testing the waters of emotions. Since Day 1, Angelo kept a serious outlook on things, something that he claimed was a developed character caused by his circumstances. Will Yen be the catalyst that moves him? “Tingin lang niya sa akin, best friend,” Angelo answered Joe and Kazel. “Ayoko naman mag-expect.” What was weird was that this conversation was happening in front of Yen, who pushed the issue more by asking him to choose. Feeling a bit awkward, Angelo asked if they could just speak privately, but eventually answered that he’d pick Yen.
Just how big a chance did Angelo have? When Pots declared his feelings for her, Yen struggled to stay neutral. She shared her conversation with Pots to Joe, saying that she had a hard time telling Pots that there simply were no sparks between them. In contrast, she has been cheering “her Baby Gelo” on and pursuing discussion about the two of them.
In the Apartment, their jail cell held one pretty prisoner. Fretzie was the chosen captive, and there was no time that she was without company. This soft-spoken teen had flipped the situation as she captured the interest and friendship of her captors. “Promise, photocopy, shake hands, contract, laminate!” Such were the binding words of secrecy between Fretzie and the Teenternational girls as they talked about girl stuff. As Jenny put it, “Us three lang…and the whole Philippines!” Sophia animatedly shared her crush on Joe, and while the girls nagged Fretzie about hers, “wala talaga” was her constant reply.
This doesn’t mean that no one crushed on her, though. Bret thought that Fretzie was in a triangle of some sort with Ivan and Patrick, something that she totally denied. This seemed to give the Teenternational lad some hope, as he continued to reveal that he had always wanted to ask her number but was too shy to do so. Carson and Bret both spend time with Fretzie, making her comfortable even more by speaking in Visayan. Between the two boys, though, Bret was the one who went ahead and told Fretzie of his interest in her. “I keep wanting to do something, but I don’t,” he openly shared to the understanding girl.
Would something more substantial bloom from living in close quarters? Which couple will actually manage to keep it going? Well, young love blazes with hot fire. As long as it just keeps them warm and not burnt, all would be fine.
